The search continued, this time for the little creature that resembled America. England, and Canada had went back to the safe room to try and contact the others, while everyone else split up in pairs. Russia and China, Germany and Italy, Spain and Romano, America and Japan, and then Prussia and myself. Everyone had been assigned a different floor, and the one we had ended up with was the basement. I don't know why, but being alone with Prussia made me feel strangely uncomfortable. Maybe it was because that monster could pop out at any moment for his progress report and blow my cover.

I sighed, looking towards the wall as we headed down to the basement, why did I have to go through so much just to ensure everyone's safety? Then it hit me, I wasn't the only one who had made a deal, Italy had been trying to do the same thing ever since we first arrived here. It was extremely selfish to think that I was the only one sacrificing their lives to save everyone else.

"You're a lot more quiet then usual." Prussia said, I looked over to him.

"Just a lot more to think about, y'know." I replied, walking down the stairs that connected us to the first floor. Germany and Italy slowly followed behind, having their own conversation. They had been assigned the first floor, which was a bit comforting, if anything went wrong down in the basement all we had to do was yell and Germany would be there. Ever since we woke up Italy had been much closer to Germany, but he never once brought up the name Holy Rome around him. Maybe he forgot?

No, there was no way in hell that he could just forget. Holy Rome means so much to him, even though he used to be afraid of him when he was a small country. He has never ever stopped thinking about him, wondering what had happened to him, and if he was alright.

"...Are you listening?" Prussia's voice interrupted my train of thought, pulling me back into reality. I jumped a bit, the sound catching me off guard.

"S-sorry, what did you say?" I questioned.

"You haven't been acting like yourself... Did something happen?" Prussia asked, I shook my head. As much as I wanted to tell him the truth, there was no way I could. Things would only get more complicated then they were. Besides, I had made a promise.

"What gives you that idea?" I laughed a bit, trying to shake off his worry, but it only made him more concerned. I grabbed his hand gently, holding it tight as I pulled him forward,"Come on, don't worry about me, I'm fine! I promise, Prussia. Let's just go look for mini-America!"

"Alright, Frau." Prussia said, a small smirk growing on his face. I turned around, continuing to hold onto his hand tightly. I hated lying, especially to those I care about, but I didn't
have a choice.

-Time skip to the basement-

We searched the long halls until we were left with only one room, the room where Spain and Romano had snuck their way in. The room where we had almost been able to escape through....

"There isn't a lot of places to search in here really..." I sighed, "The only place he can really hide is around the-" I stopped dead in my tracks, my eyes landing on the giant hole in the wall. It was almost as if something had busted through it at some point. Had that always been there?

"What- oh." Prussia said in surprise,"Was that always there?"

"I think so, I guess I just forgot about it..." I slowly walked towards it, Prussia grabbed my arm.

"Let me do it." He insisted, I took a few steps back, allowing him to pass by me. Cautiously he reached in with both arms, grabbing in the darkness. When he pulled his hands out, I was greeted by the silly little white creature that looked like America.

"There you are, little guy! We've been looking all over for you." I said happily, taking him out of Prussia's arms to snuggle him. Prussia let out a small sigh, disappointment in his eyes. I raised an eyebrow,"what?"

"Why aren't you ever that excited to see me?" Prussia pouted.

"I never get a break from you, dude. I always see you, the excitement kinda dies down after awhile." I stated, holding the creature against my chest. The little guy squeaked, I wasn't sure if it was being squeezed too tight or if it was just a little too happy to be so close to my chest. Knowing America as a human, it was definitely the last option.

"Give him back to me, I don't like that happy go lucky look on his face." Prussia said, grabbing him, his face flushed red in jealousy. I laughed, it was nice to see Prussia act this way for once. He almost reminded me of Romano in a way. Something small hit the back of my leg, and I jumped, looking back. I could see a hand gesture for me to come towards it. I knew exactly who it was, too. There was no denying that it was that stupid monster coming for his report.

"Anyway, you head back, I think I dropped something last time I was here." I said, already scanning the ground.

"Are you sure you don't want me to help you, Frau?" Prussia questioned.

"Yeah, it's fine, besides you gotta get him back to the others." I said jerking my head towards the door. "I'll only be a few minutes, promise."

"if you're sure..." He muttered, turning on his heels with the little mini-America in his hands.

I wanted until I heard the sound of the door close behind him, and then I walked around the corner. Holy Rome's distorted face greeted me, it was clear this monster knew nothing about taking care of a human. His face was all sunken in, there were dark bags under his eyes, if I didn't know better I would almost feel the need to take care of him.

"What's your report?" He questioned, his voice sounded horrible, almost as if he had sandpaper for a throat.

"You know if you're going to use his body, you could at least take care of it properly." I sighed, frowning at him.

"I know nothing about petty things such as that."

"Humans have to eat, sleep, bathe... Which is something I can see you haven't done at all." I said, plugging my nose as I walked closer towards him. He smelled about as bad as a trash dump, it was completely revolting.

"All the food provided in the kitchen is spoiled, and the water doesn't work." He replied.

"What about sleeping?" I questioned him. He looked away awkwardly, almost like the topic of sleeping made him uncomfortable.

"I... I don't need to sleep." He choked out.

"Everyone needs to sleep, so why bother lying?" I frowned, crossing my arms. Why did always have to be so stubborn?

    "Stop distracting me!" He growled.

"I'm not even trying to." I growled back,"You are using a very old friends body, and I'd appreciate if you took care of it properly. I don't like to see him like this, it's almost as if he's dead."

"...fine." He turned around, his back facing towards me. There was an awkward silence between us, and it only got more awkward the more time passed.

"I'll bring you food every time we meet, I'll also grab you a clean pair of clothes, in return I want you to at least try and sleep, okay?" I sighed.

He turned his head, looking back at me. He then quickly turned away, his cheeks turning a small shade of pink. "Fine... But for now, I need your report."

-Prussia's POV-

I stood behind the door, my ear pressed against the cold wood as I tried to detect any sort of noise. Sure enough, I could hear talking. (Country) was talking to someone, but the voice I couldn't quite place. It was a male voice, it almost sounded like west, but it was like he was extremely sick. There was no way west was down here, I would have noticed, so who could it be? No one was there when I was in there with her a few minutes ago. Had someone outside the mansion snuck in again?

I placed my hand on the knob, holding the creature with my one arm tight against my chest. I was tempted to go back in. I mean, why would she want me to leave if she were meeting one of them? All of this was far too suspicious, (country) has no reason to hide things from me, I'm always on her side no matter what, so why?

"Stop distracting me!" The male voice shouted, I jumped, taken back by the sudden scream of frustration.

"....not even trying to..." (Country) said bitterly. She said more, but I couldn't make it out, she was being too quiet. Afterward, there was a long pause of silence, I wasn't sure if they were talking and being quiet about it or if they weren't talking at all.

After what seemed like an eternity of silence, the talking continued, but the last word I managed to pick up was 'report'.

-Your POV-

After I was finished telling him how we had managed to figure out where the key might be, and the clock. We parted ways, I headed for the door, while he stayed behind and. Climbed his way out of the mansion. I knew what he was going to do, he was going to look for the clock, but there was no way he would find it. Somehow I had a feeling that we were much closer to finding it than he was, but I really had no reason to think so.

I opened the door, not focused on anything around me because I already knew my way around the place. But I was surprise to find that there was something large blocking my way. It was Germany, and behind him were Prussia and Italy.

"Who were you talking to?" Germany asked coldly. I gulped, I guess there's no getting out of it now.
